Two more shades from Gwen Stefani’s collection and yes, we will talk about Firebird and 714.

See my review on Wonderland and Rock Steady here.
Originally, Gwen Stefani lipstick collection has 8 shades but Sephora Singapore is only carrying 6 of them.
- Rock Steady
- Spider Web
- *Phone Call (not available in SG)
- *Plaid (not available in SG)
IMPRESSIVE – The packaging was well thought of; It’s edgy and very Gwen.
The bullet lipsticks are placed in a white and gold box with UD|Gwen Stefani logo stamped on the front side. The lipstick package, on the other hand, is designed with black and gold pattern and the shade’s name is found at the bottom.
*please note that due to the difference in undertones, the shades may look brighter or darker to different people.
For reference here is the list of my shades:
NC25 (MAC Pro Longwear Foundation) / 1.5 (MAC Matchmaster) Y225 (MUFE Ultra HD) / Light 4 Deauville (NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation)
Just like Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, it is best if you use the lip liner under the lipstick, but that is, of course, a personal choice.
Described as bright red with a mega matte finish, this is the only matte lipstick in her collection. It was comfortable to wear and not as drying like what a usual MAC matte lipstick feels on the lips. Also, I applied it using a lip brush to achieve a more precise line and cupid’s bow shape. This is a step that I always do especially when I wear red (matte) lipsticks.
Use a lip brush when applying red lipstick to achieve a more precise line and cupid’s bow shape.
I used Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in Ruby before applying 714.
Described as deep fuchsia with a cream finish, this lipstick reminds me of Colourpop’s Ultra Matte lipstick in Sundae because of the iridescence.
This is the last shade that I picked up as I was not really sure if I can rock the lip colour and if I will learn to like this kind of finish. As you all know, I am in love with matte lipsticks and this (with shimmery thingy) is really not my cup of tea. But then, I convinced myself to try it, because why not? 😅
Take note that there are lip pencils available for these shades but I did not get them because I have a number of red lip pencils that are similar with 714 lip pencil. As for Firebird, I trusted my good judgement that this will still be a good colour sans lip liner.
- Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani LIPSTICK is sold at 33 SGD (18 USD) each.
- The lipsticks are opaque and pigmented;
- Easy to use and apply.
- one swipe is all you need and you can apply directly or use a lip brush.
- Long lasting/long wearing
- It feels light on the lips.
- No feathering.
- Made in the USA.
- Scent-free and no discernible taste.
- Available in local SG Sephora stores and online.
- I cannot find the lipstick finish on both the product tube and box.
- Not all lipstick shades are available in Singapore at the moment, but I hope they get to bring them here soon.
I was hoping for a hot pink shade from her collection and unfortunately, there isn’t one. Still, I am happy that I tried these lippies because I had a better appreciation for cream finishes. With the current trend and so much liquid matte lipsticks in the market, we somewhat forget that there are other options available. Also, it is good to note that all ages can enjoy this range – young, middle age or matured people.
If you are looking for a lipstick to try and worth your money, you should visit the nearest Sephora store and take a look on these. Lovely shades and formula.
Act as young as you feel. You’re not getting older, you’re getting more entitled to be your fabulous self.
