I started my beauty blog with my all-out love for flat matte lipsticks but just like the rest of the world, my space and preference are subject to change. And as I’ve always mentioned in me old posts, I promised to try and explore new things – stuff that can make me take a second look at the things that I don’t usually use or do. For today, I’ll do that with Dior’s latest lip products – the LACQUER STICKS.
Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, creates the 4 colour trends of the season inspired by the most symbolic L.A. spots and bathed in the light of the West Coast:
PASTEL Whites infused with pink, lavender, coral and peach pigments evoke a Californian postcard from the fifties.
NEON A color pop spectrum that draws its energy from the heart of the City of Angels.
CLASSIC Red Carpet reds and pinks illustrates Hollywood glamour.
WILD Neo-nudes and browns that flirt with grunge.
Dior’s signature packaging is always aesthetically pleasing and for the lacquer sticks, they used a black casing with the DIOR word embedded on one side of the tube.
A base almost twice as sheer as a classic lipstick for colour with unprecedented shine. A palette of 20 colour creations, ranging from the highly experimental to the most timeless, all with surprising intensity and vibrancy, including 4 symbolic it-shades: Turn Me Dior (877), Diabolo (684), Sauvage (924), Tease (550).
Described as a nude pink, this shade is one of their it-shades and without a doubt, a crowd favourite. This colour leaves your lip with a soft & youthful look.
This hot pink number has officially become one of my summer lip colours! (I got orange & pink, sorry! too many choices & it won’t be fair to only have one 😀) Tinted moisturiser + hot pink cream blush + K-Kiss and off you go!
TURN ME DIOR (877)
I turned my back from the usual reds & picked up this raspberry red instead. It’s too gorgeous to be unnoticed and it reminds me of that vintage glamour that we see on magazines. Très belle
I instantly fell in love with the formula of the lacquer addicts. They offer the comfort of a balm with the intense colour & shine of a lipstick. They may not be kiss/waterproof but not messy to deal with either. This is by far, the easiest swatching that I’ve ever done since they’re easy to remove and apply. They also leave the lips plump & hydrated.

Out of these shades,
- Turn Me Dior left an incredible amount of stain that lasted the whole day.
- I experienced a slight bleeding with Turn Me Dior.
Tease & K-Kiss are sheer but you can always layer them like I did in the photos. However, if you have a bit of a natural, dark lip shade, you can always use a lip pencil as your base colour so you can achieve the desired colour. ;D
- Sold at 50 SGD at all Dior counters and boutiques.
- 35 USD at Sephora US
*K-Kiss is not available at Sephora US
**I did not use any lip liners for the swatches
