JW360° Café at Jewel Changi Airport

The first set of restaurant that I’ve tried on my initial visit toJewel Changi Airport were both Japanese restaurants and they were Tonkatsu Mamaison & JW360°(Japan Way Three Sixty) and it wasn’t intentional and I just realised it just now.

JW 360° is a Japanese multi-concept food destination. It comprises Restaurant Suju Masayuki, a restaurant offering simple comfort food, JW 360° Café, a coffeehouse serving a seasonal menu of drinks and desserts, and Nomono, a specialty store featuring Japanese food products – some of which are available for the first time in an overseas market.

With three divisions –  Restaurant, Café and Retail, this review will concentrate on the café side because that’s what I’ve tried so far.

It was my first time to try a Japanese Gelato and they got interesting flavours like the Soba-Cha (buckwheat seeds), which I tried and I like it! The other flavours were:

  • matcha milk
  • hoji-cha
  • sweet potato
  • black sesame
  • caramel walnut
  • kyoho grapes

Their gelato is served with a sweet potato on top.

Hello, Matcha Lovers!

Aside from the Gelato, JW360° offers a number of matcha-flavoured desserts. Amongst the choices, I picked to try their Souffle Cheese & the very ‘grammable Matcha Mont Blanc.

Souffle Cheese (4.50 SGD)

This is a lovely piece of dessert and it’s not full of air. It’s dense but light & melts in your mouth. Not too creamy but one serving will be enough.

Matcha Mont Blanc (9.50 SGD)

This gorgeous treat is, sadly, not for me. There’s nothing wrong, ‘tho! It’s not too sweet & the combination of the entire thing piece is great, but maybe I’m just really not a fan of this type of dessert that even Angelina’s Mont Blanc failed to capture my picky heart when it comes to desserts.

Café with a view

There were available seats but I chose to get this spot because I wanted to enjoy the natural light coming from the Shiseido Forest Valley. It’s relaxing and perfect for when you’re want to read while enjoying your snacks & coffee.
